My name is Pavel Ananich and if you are reading this chances are big we met in real life.
This website is a collection of projects that I have been involved in as a producer, photographer and the occasional director. An overview of my creative process of the past.
I was born in Moscow, then still USSR, and moved via a pitstop of two years in Israel to Amsterdam when I was about 8 years old.
After giving it a go at the University of Amsterdam, Political Sciences, Economics and History, I went to the cinema and saw Andrey Zvyagintsev's 'The Return' and realized I wanted to become a filmmaker.
I attended the production faculty of the Dutch Film and Television Academy and graduated in 2009.
During my studies, I worked in different assisting roles on feature, documentary and advertising productions.
Upon my graduation, I moved to Moscow where for three years I ran a Pay-TV channel called egoist.tv, currently still broadcasting under the shot.tv brand, focusing on worldwide short format content.
I returned in 2012 back to Europe where I worked for Bero Beyer at Augustus Film Production on the feature film 'Atlantic' and 'Qissa', and for Eurydice Gysel and Koen Mortier at Czar Belgium on the feature films 'Waste Land' and 'Close Enough'. From 2013 until April 2016 I was the executive producer of Operator Studios.
On April fools 2016 I decided to broaden my interest in storytelling while continuing to produce for advertising and cinema in a freelance capacity.
